Due to rapid growth, and a rich R&D pipeline which will result in the launch of new products into new categories in the near future, we have opportunities throughout the UK for Key Account Managers to join this reputable, distinguished firm. Based in Nottinghamshire, Advancis Medical is a medical device company building an international reputation for developing, manufacturing and marketing a range of advanced wound care products. They have an extensive R&D division and a pipeline of genuine disruptive technologies which will be launched in the near future, offering new innovations within wound care.

Key Responsibilities

The Key Account Manager will be working within Primary, Secondary and Community Care, as well as veterinary practices, and will be responsible and accountable for sales delivery in a defined geography, coordinating all Advancis Medical interactions with any given account, while developing and implementing account plans for a varied product portfolio. You will be responsible for:

• Leading local business, including the production, documentation and implementation of detailed account level business plans, aligned with regional and national brand objectives.
• Presenting and approving of plans internally, working with broader cross functional teams (e.g. Medical, Veterinary) to develop plans.
• Driving the development of commercially positive formulary, guideline and protocol inclusions for promoted brands in agreed accounts across both primary and secondary care incorporating trust and APC formularies where appropriate. This includes the securing of reimbursement (where appropriate), permission to prescribe, as well as the subsequent implementation and business pull-through.
• Supporting all aspects of Advancis Medical wound care tender process from company submission to customer implementation ensuring we optimise the impact of positive tender wins.
• Driving clinical demand for Advancis Medical & Veterinary product portfolio.
• Developing/facilitating local medical education events in line with account objectives and budget.
• Tracking local budget, ensuring financial resources are appropriately utilised and managed.
• Ensuring compliance with company standards (CRM, SOPs, expenses etc.) and the ABHI Code of Practice.
• Identifying key trends in the local and national payor/prescriber environment across treatment settings (not just within the Trust) and pro-actively identifying and driving appropriate business opportunities, whilst adapting local strategy/tactics accordingly.
• Providing regular and accurate account performance reports, customer and environmental insights to the Regional Business Manager and Marketing Teams.
• Mapping commissioning funding flows and patient flows across both the primary and secondary care healthcare services and identifying points of leverage/bottlenecks. Proposing health economic & clinically effective solutions to benefit both the uptake of Advancis Product Portfolio in the market and the NHS.
• Working with the Marketing Department on geographical specific campaigns, and in line with UK Brand Strategy, raising awareness within customer base of products – driving immediate returns on market share and sales.
• Delivery of core KPIs for this role (activity, meetings volumes, SvT, diary management, budget management, product evaluations, formulary wins).
• Attending and providing support at Regional and National events within the UK as required.

Essential Skills 

• Demonstrable successful sales record within the wound care environment
• Previous KAM experience required alongside excellent selling, negotiation and networking skills
• Experience of effectively working across the interface of primary, secondary and community care
• Sound understanding of local healthcare drivers and implications on the portfolio
• Strong business acumen
• Evidence of successful cross-functional working
• Experience within the veterinary market is advantageous but not essential
• Degree level educated, preferably in science/healthcare or business-related discipline
