Ashfield Healthcare are proud to be working with our client specialising in rare disease to recruit a Nurse Advisor. The client is dedicated to enhancing the lives of patients and their families through innovative services and new a medication. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work as a nurse with our client and the patient group. 

Key Responsibilities

• To assist healthcare professional staff in Hospitals with PSP set up 
• To complete documentation in line with Standard Operating Procedures for the programme 
• To communicate with and develop relationships with key nursing and medical staff at all recipient organisations adopting the service.
• Undertake training to include:
• Adverse Event and Product Complaint reporting 
• All service documentation (controlled documentation)
• Therapy Area
• Continuing professional development
• All Ashfield’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Service Operating Procedures (SeOPs) and other applicable documentation 
• To be pro-active and able to work under own initiative, whilst helping to maximise the potential of the team.
• Maintain all equipment and materials that is provided as part of the service in accordance with Company policies.
• Be familiar with Company policies and health and safety legislation as it affects the role of nurses working in these environments. 
• Undertake other tasks and assignments which may be required by the Regional Nurse Manager or Company as discussed and agreed.
• Maintain professional registration and up to date knowledge. 
• Complete all necessary administration in a timely and accurate manner as required, particularly in relation to activity reporting, information feedback and expenses.
• Attend team meetings and conferences as required in order to keep up to date with plans, activities and developments and to exchange knowledge and experience within the team.
• Comply with the Adverse Event policies of Ashfield’s (and the client company, where applicable) in respect of all matters relating to pharmacovigilance, including training requirements and reporting systems.
• Comply with the relevant regulatory guidelines including the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code and An Bord Altranais Code of Professional Conduct.

Essential Skills
 
• Current NMC registration
• Minimum of two years post registration experience 

Skills Preferred

• Nurse experience (minimum 3 years)
• Up to date Phlebotomy skills 
• Experience in the management of patients with rare diseases
• Either experience in supporting patients remotely from the referring hospital via Home care or outreach services.
• Familiar with and confident in the use of Computing systems
• Diagnosis and management within the therapy area

Other

• RGN (or an equivalent body that affords a comparable level of professional indemnity)
• Proof of qualifications and satisfactory references
• Satisfactory enhanced Disclosure or equivalent
• Satisfactory pre-employment medical checks
